For those who will ask:

The new VisionPoints site is built on the “Optimize” theme from the absolutely fabulous folks at WooThemes. They’ve got some serious chops there and their themes are very affordable, do check them out. Naturally, we loved the theme so much we just had to get our hands all over it, so VisionPoints’ Optimize is a highly customized version of the theme.

VisionPoints’ previous site was scratch-built. This is the site’s debut with WordPress under the hood. It’s as powerful for content management on a mainly static site like this as it is for a blog-based website.

The main typeface for the site is Myriad Pro, which I love for its openness and readability. Our new logo combines Modern No. 20 with Keynsia. We may do a post about the logo’s evolution in the near future, so watch for that.

The wallpaper background in the header uses the Dirty Headline typeface.

The lightbox plugin we’re using to create the portfolio galleries and the slideshow on the Home page is called prettyPhoto, from Stephane Caron. It came with our theme (you can download it for any theme) and we found a dozen tweaks for it once we started playing around. It’s super-powerful, super-customizable, and I recommend it highly.

Hope that answers a few questions for those who like to know the inside secrets on redesigns!

Here’s to your best year ever,

Kelly Erickson and VisionPoints
